Our Top 10 Floral Installations of 2024

2024 has been a testament to resilience, but amidst the chaos came some of the most awe-inspiring, creative, and memorable weddings and events we’ve had the honor of flowering.

This year, Native Poppy’s designs were featured in Brides, Style Me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes, Florists Review Magazine, and Martha Stewart - to name a few. All were stunning, but a major highlight was traveling to Florida where we executed three immersive floral installations over two days that left guests (and our fellow industry pros) obsessed. The lifesize pasta floral installation created hype among TV and food personalities alike, and was a personal favorite of Natalie Gill, Native Poppy’s founder and our resident Pasta Queen.

Here’s a closer look at some of our most-loved floral installations of the year!

1. Grace + Max - Private Beach Wedding Ceremony Floral Arch with Amorology

We joined Amorology for Grace and Max’s private beach wedding, featuring blush pink dahlias, garden roses, and playful pops of green. It was such a romantic ceremony. Fun fact - a few of the photos are our top pins of 2024!

2. Vanessa + Julian - Paper Poppies Hanging Floral Installation with Amorology

For Vanessa and Julian’s wedding, we incorporated stunning hand-made paper poppies (created for our store display by artist Ashley Renuart) with fresh smilax greenery. These beautiful paper flowers added a whimsical touch to their vibrant and airy wedding.

3. Samantha + Steven - Rancho Santa Fe Wedding on Film with Amorology

Samantha and Steven’s Rancho Santa Fe wedding ceremony was a muted masterpiece - color blocked with earthy hues. We love the combination of bold shapes, a creative color palette, and the organic, meadowy design.

4. Breezi + Leonardo - Pasta Hanging Floral Installation with Amorology

This viral floral installation featured flowers suspended from strands of “spaghetti” - fettuccine-ribbon and felt-farfalle. The pairing perfectly complemented the couple’s Italian-themed celebration. We traveled across the country to Florida with Amorology, to transform Modica Market into a vintage Italian mercato, and couldn’t be more in love with the outcome!

5. Lauren + Chad - Ceremony-to-Dance Floor Rancho San Roque Floral Installation with Wild Heart Events

Lauren and Chad’s ceremony florals were designed to transition into a dramatic dance floor display. We draped carnation garlands in shades of orange, blush, and hot pink around the lights and disco ball to create a floral chandelier. This stunning wedding featured on Green Wedding Shoes earlier this year and we can definitely see why!

6. Cat-Themed Floral Installation with Mannasun Events

This whimsical cat-themed wedding featured a wedding arch with two large floral cat sculptures that cat-lovers went gaga over, the likes of which contributed to our most viewed reel of 2024! Our bride wanted to commemorate her beloved fur babies (one who had recently crossed the rainbow bridge) to have them in spirit for their special wedding day. Team member Helene spent three days hand-sculpting each cat out of pampas grass and truly knocked it out of the park!

7. Petal Pops - Promoting San Diego Museum of Art's Annual Art Alive Exhibition

Petal pop collage, full of flower installations

Our contribution to this year’s Art Alive preparation, included four exciting pop up floral installations around San Diego. First, was our pop-up on the Little Italy Piazza della Famiglia Fountain, second at the entrance of Old Town’s Fiesta de Reyes, third at the Lookout Gazebo in La Mesa, and fourth at the Maritime Museum, The Star of India. These petal pops are open to the public and are an annual hit for locals and visitors alike. Our team looks forward to these floral installations all year; it’s a joy and honor to create floral works of art for the San Diego Museum of Art and our community.

8. Judy + Darrin - Private Beach Hanging Floral Installation and Yacht Florals at the Del Beach with Amorology

Judy and Darrin’s wedding day was a two-part celebration, both near the stunning Coronado Del Beach. We brought their dreamy reception setup to life with hanging florals in blush and peachy blooms, and cascading meadow-aisle markers on the steps. We couldn’t be happier with how this breathtaking floral installation came together!

Part two of Judy and Darrin’s celebration was a stunning yacht ceremony - and our first time flowering on the open sea! Floral aisle markers, hanging greenery, and lush arrangements made this seaside wedding a true show-stopper!

9. Colleen + Vishnal - Peachy Arch of Our Dreams at the Guild Hotel with Amorology

For Colleen and Vishnal, we created a lush meadow-aisle framed by a perfectly peachy wedding arch. This elevated take on a traditional patriotic color palette was one of our favorite 4th of July weddings to date. BTW, this wedding arch was also a viral Pinterest pin.

10. Exterior Silk Floral Installations for Native Poppy's South Park and Solana Beach Flower Shops

To top off the year, we added a silk floral installation on the exterior of our South Park and Solana Beach stores. Our floral installations are a welcoming statement piece to spread the love through the power of flowers and is an ongoing invitation to our community that our shop is always there for them! Our favorite installation gal, Ashley Renuart, contributed her magic to both of this year’s shop silk installations.
