The first thing that makes a vase feel like fall for us is color - warm hues like rust, mustard, oatmeal and amber instantly remind us of the changing leaves that we admittedly will not see much of in San Diego, but associate with the season nevertheless!
Texture is another component we look for when selecting vases for fall - the speckled siding, a call-out to a cable-knit blanket; the fluted design, an echo of a chic ribbed sweater.
The beauty of a good fall vase is that it can make a statement with even a few stems of flowers, or gasp - none at all! A sculptural ceramic vase can make a simple branch feel wild, while an amber glass bud vase can bring in just the right amount of warmth to a bedside table or bathroom shelf with a single bloom.
Tall Fall Vases: Styles for Tables, Entryways, & More
Tall vases - with a height of 7” or more - are typically best in a spot that can shine on their own without obstructing eye-contact or affecting the functionality of your home. 7” may not seem tall at all, but keep in mind your flowers will extend 10-14” above the lip of the vase! Skip tall arrangements on a dining table that require you and your guests to look around them or in front of a light-switch that makes it hard to reach.
Instead, consider featuring a tall fall vase full of flowers in your entryway on a console table or credenza, where it can greet you the moment you walk in. Tall arrangements also stand out on a sideboard in your dining room, anchoring the space between art prints or candles.

The Ginger Ceramic bud vase (both in short and tall) is a house favorite! Our florists love it in part for its rippled texture and glossy glaze, but mostly they love it because of the size of the vase opening. The mouth of the vase allows for about 5-7 stems, making it a bud(s) vase!
