Becoming a Florist is a rotating workshop series built around the wide range of floral designs professional florists create for weddings, events, and retail. Each month focuses on a different core floral form—giving participants the opportunity to build real-world design experience across styles, scales, and applications. You’ll learn professional florist approaches to mechanics, structure, flower care, and design decision-making, along with practical considerations like handling, transport, and longevity. This series is designed to support both arranging hobbyists and working florists looking to expand their technical skills and confidence. Workshops can be taken as stand-alone classes, or as part of a year-long progression through foundational and advanced floral forms.

This Month’s Focus: Wedding Bouquets

In this workshop, we’ll focus on designing a hand-held wedding bouquet, one of the most iconic and technically nuanced floral forms. Instruction will cover the specific mechanics, proportions, and techniques used for this style, along with guidance on flower selection and construction suited to its purpose and use. Participants will create one hand-tied wedding bouquet during the workshop to take home.

Who This Class Is For

No prior professional experience is required to participate. This workshop is appropriate for all skill levels, and no portfolio or proof of previous classes is needed. Whether you’re exploring floristry as a creative practice or actively working with flowers, this series offers hands-on experience across essential floral forms.
